Known for her charmingly eccentric sound, Amal Waqar is an Omani oud player, singer, and songwriter. Hailing from Muscat, Amal was exposed to the variety of cultures present in the city; she herself being the child of a Colombian-American mother and Indo-Omani father. Influencing her outlook on life, this is also highly expressed through her music. Enthralled by possibility, Amal explores the oud in new and unconventional ways, experiments with interpretation of traditional melodies, and composes songs that reflect her unique perspective of life.
